“Yoga helps to integrate the mental and physical plane, bringing about a sense of inner and outer balance, or what I term alignment.” ~B.K.S. Iyengar

Align your mind, body, and soul at this 600 acre, private Costa Rican Eco-lodge. Calm your mind as you walk through the tranquil rainforest. Soothe your body in the salt water ocean and come back to the center of your soul with quiet contemplative reflection.

On this week-long retreat, you will have time to refresh your life force with new energy and return home feeling nourished and aligned.

Twice a day, you’ll have the opportunity to “refine” your yoga practice. With thoughtfully planned classes, designed in the Iyengar tradition, Amanda will offer yoga sessions with the intention of building your practice from the ground up. She will give you tools and techniques to continue to stay playfully inspired with your yoga practice, on and off the mat.

Between classes, there will be plenty of time to relax on the beach or find a quiet spot on the property to journal. You can conveniently book an excursion of your choice on-site or hike the trails that surround the grounds. Whatever your style, you will be sure to find what you’re looking for on this retreat. So leave the stress of your modern day life behind and join the journey!

Amanda Cooley

Amanda is the proud owner of Ruby Yoga, located in North Bay, in Canada. She has been practicing yoga for over 14 years and teaching yoga for 10 of those years. Her yoga journey began when she was suffering from the ups and downs of anxiety and depression. Recognizing the immense benefits of her own yoga practice, Amanda wanted to help others achieve a better quality of life through this path.

Studying with teachers from the Iyengar tradition at The Yoga Studio College of Canada, Amanda completed her year-long certification in June 2008. Upon completing her certification, Amanda had dreams of traveling and furthering her education in Yoga. She relocated to Busan, Korea to teach English for 14 months which gave her the opportunity to then study and live at an ashram in India and trek the Himalayan Mountains in Nepal.

After almost 3 years of being away from home, Amanda returned to Canada to visit friends and family. She stayed to open Ruby Yoga in October 2012. Using her studio as a catalyst to expose the tools and teachings of yoga to others, her intention is to continue to help individuals heal through the path of yoga.

Testimonials

“Amanda Cooley is an exceptional instructor. Her connection to her students on an intellectual, emotional, and intuitive level is everything you hope to find in a teacher. Her knowledge of the body and natural ability to seamlessly cue you safely in and out of the asanas gives her students the confidence to explore themselves more deeply and playfully during classes. Amanda is the instructor you want guiding your yoga practice!” ~ Kelly

“I have tried yoga several times over many years, but never really “got” it. About 3 years ago I decided to give it another try and Ruby Yoga with Amanda was my choice. Right from the first class, I felt comfortable and eager to continue. In addition to being very warm and welcoming, Amanda shows great concern and respect for our bodies. She pushes us to improve but is always mindful of any areas of our bodies that need special care. Improved balance, strength, and flexibility, as well as laughter and friendship, make me look forward to every class.” ~ Diane
