Playa Uvita Costa RicaEscape the cold of winter to the warmth and beautiful forests, sandy beaches, and astonishing wildlife of Costa Rica with Corinne Farrell & Priya Idgunji.

Held in a rainforest eco-lodge nestled in a 600-acre private reserve with Pacific Ocean views and easy access to a private beach cove, this retreat will offer daily yoga and meditation classes, three meals a day using locally-grown fruit and vegetables, and time to explore, play, or enjoy some R&R.

Daily yoga classes will be held in the yoga pavilion, built on sacred geometry, offering a breathtaking view of the Bahia Ballena Marine National Park, a nationally protected marine zone.

This eco-lodge offers ten beautiful ocean view cabins designed with sustainably harvested wood and local materials to maximize comfort while minimizing the impact on the environment.

Sample Itinerary

Every retreat is unique and, as such, the itineraries are ever-changing! We finalize the itineraries about 3-6 weeks before the retreat, but after 10 years of hosting retreats, we do have a general idea of what most schedules look like.

Most retreats include one-to-two daily yoga classes. One class takes place in the morning, either just before or just after breakfast. After the first class and meal, you have free time to explore, relax, or take part in optional add-on activities. Lunch (if included in your retreat) will take place midday, during this free time. There is then, usually, an afternoon class followed by dinner. Occasionally some teachers choose to offer an evening restorative class or group gathering after dinner as well.

In addition, there is usually one dedicated “excursion day” in which we do not have scheduled yoga classes. This is a day for people to take advantage of some of the more involved tour and excursion offerings and is always a lot of fun!

Again, this is a very general look at what your retreat schedule could be. We work closely with the teachers to design unique itineraries that reflect their style and the group that’s traveling with them. Once your specific retreat itinerary is complete, we will send it out via email, usually two or more weeks before the retreat starts. Please keep in mind all retreat itineraries are subject to change.

The atmosphere of the retreat center is simple, healthy, and relaxed. Rooms are single or double occupancy. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared daily and include healthy vegetarian options along with fish and/or chicken. The food is organic when available and prepared with nourishing ingredients.

Gorgeous bungalow style accommodations all with huge ocean views, where you can see Ballena National Marine Park, the rainforest, and much more. All of the rooms are made from reforested wood from our trees planted on the same land 20 years ago. The architecture includes local craftsmanship using wood, stone, shell, and sand.

Priya Idgunji

Yoga came into Priya’s life at an early age. Priya’s mother, having practiced under B.K.S. Iyengar for 3 years, taught her growing up. In 2008 she began a dedicated physical practice, originally seeking only that; however, what unveiled was a mindful practice that provided tools to improve overall well-being. In 2010 she combined her love of travel with her love of yoga and went to Bali for an immersive 200HR Hatha Yoga certification. Since then, she’s received certifications in Vinyasa Yoga, Bhakti Flow Yoga from Rusty Wells. Priya has also been trained in The Art of Physical Adjustments, Reiki Level 1, Prenatal, Restorative, Yin, Aerial, and Trauma-Informed Yoga.
