Retreats offer us a chance to step away from the busyness of daily life in order to turn inward, reflect, renew, and deepen our practice; in so doing, we remember our connection to all beings, everywhere—and we cultivate compassion. In remembering that connection, we may be inspired to work for positive change in the world. Join Jennifer Lenhart, CYT/E-RYT, for a week-long retreat focusing on the interdependent nature of all beings and on softening our hearts and cultivating compassion.
National Geographic calls Costa Rica “the most biologically intense place on earth”. What better place to look deeply at nature and our place in it, to look deeply at ourselves, and to consider what Thich Nhat Hanh calls “interbeing”? Our home for the week will be a beautiful eco-lodge on the Pacific Coast.
Through yoga asana classes, silent meditation, guided meditation, and discussion/talks, we’ll explore our theme for the week: “Lokah Samastah Sukinoh Bhavantu” or “May All Beings Be Happy and Free.”
Those new to yoga and meditation are welcome, as are seasoned practitioners.

Jennifer Lenhart, CYT/E-RYT 200, found yoga in 1994 and began teaching in 2009. To date, she has taught over 4,300 hours of yoga. She is honored to have studied in Cleveland, Ohio at the Jivasara Yoga School under Marni Task (an advanced certified Jivamukti teacher & Anusara-inspired instructor). Around the same time she found yoga, she also discovered the teachings of Buddhism and developed a seated meditation practice. Having experienced the transformative and healing power of yoga and meditation, Jennifer is passionate about sharing them with others. Jennifer is also a certified Thai Yoga massage practitioner and holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature.
In class, expect to hear inspirational music, do some devotional chanting, consider how the teachings of yoga & Buddhism can be applied to modern life, be asked to bring awareness and focus to the breath, be encouraged to find optimal alignment in the postures, and be invited to bring mindfulness to all areas of the practice — body, mind, and soul. And probably enjoy some laughter, too.
“Much love and gratitude to you my yoga teacher–you are an inspiration to those you teach. You bring so much to us, beyond the movement practice. Your retreats have been life-changing for me!”
“Jen makes yoga accessible for the beginner as well as the more seasoned practitioner. She always asks new students if they have injuries or issues so she knows to teach them modifications if needed. She obviously knows her anatomy, and explains how the poses benefit the parts of the body. She teaches to who is in front of her instead of just a rote practice. Every class is different depending on who is there. Plus she gives the best neck rubs in Savasana!”
“I have taken numerous classes from Jennifer in many styles from relaxation to flow, and all of her classes are not only a great path to physical wellness but also a centering and calming of the mind. No matter the class I attend I leave with a peaceful sense of well-being–a yoga buzz. Jennifer also offers a variety of poses so you can go week after week and find new and interesting information and challenges.”
“I love attending Jen’s classes! She fosters a sense of community in her yoga classes that is welcoming and kind. Her adjustments are fantastic and her explanations are helpful. For beginners or advanced yogis, Jen’s classes are a great experience.”
