Join yoga/wellness teacher Lisa Feder, and life coach/educator Dana Baruch for a week dedicated to YOU!

Take a retreat from your everyday life and come together in magnificent Costa Rica, where you will have the opportunity to explore and empower yourself and your life–mind, body, spirit—through yoga, meditation, coaching, creating, journaling, and serving others. There will be group activities, and plenty of free time; time to come together, and time to be within; time to move and create, and time to rest and replenish; time to treat yourself; and time to serve others.

This retreat is all about coming back to yourself, re-harmonizing (what better place than in the natural splendor of Costa Rica?!), and connecting with and rekindling your authentic, powerful, natural spirit. And we promise lots of laughter and fun!

Throughout the week, participants will have both group and individual access to yoga instruction and life coaching. All levels of yoga experience are welcome, even if you’ve never heard of, seen, or done a down dog! And you don’t need to have big ugly issues to reap benefits from the wisdom of coaching. We will be well cared for by the True Nature Staff at the beautiful accommodations in the beach town of Santa Teresa. For sure, what happens in Costa Rica stays in Costa Rica, but this retreat is also designed to help you plant seeds for intentional and positive change when you re-enter your life back home.

Looking forward to seeing you in Costa Rica in October 2018!

Lisa Feder

Lisa Feder is a full-time yoga instructor and wellness consultant living in Austin, Texas. She has had a passion for all things wellness for as long as she can remember. While working for over 20 years in the corporate world as a strategic marketing specialist, she began teaching fitness classes in her free time. This led her to explore yoga, and she fell in love with the way it made her and her students feel—physically, emotionally, and energetically. After teaching part-time for many years, she took the leap and started Being Well Yoga, where she brings yoga on-site to companies to help employees learn how to live healthier, more balanced lives. She also teaches in studios, schools, senior centers, parks, and private homes. Her approach is balanced, and she likes to bring humor, challenge, and deep relaxation into her practices.

Lisa is especially interested in helping students find a yoga practice that really works for them, and she believes that yoga can provide more ease and comfort to all. She has seen the effects of a healthy lifestyle on her family as well and wants to share. As a wellness coach, Lisa loves helping people explore how to incorporate healthy habits into their daily lives in a fun and sustainable way. One of her programs, a week of Being Well, is an inclusive and integrated approach to mindfulness in eating, working, exercising, meditating, media usage, and sleeping. Her favorite thing is hearing about the positive change her participants make for themselves.

Another workshop, “A Sigh of Relief,” teaches how yoga practices can be used during the day to manage stress before it becomes chronic. Lisa, RYT-500, E-RYT-200, incorporates many yoga traditions into her practices. She has certifications in Hatha, Hatha Flow, Kundalini, and I-rest Yoga Nidra. She has had the opportunity to study with Donna Farhi, Sean Corne, Sarah Powers, Anodea Judith, Beth Shaw, Amy Weintraub, and Richard Miller. All of these wonderful teachers have shared wisdom that informs her teaching, and she is grateful to them all.

Lisa received a BSBA in Spanish and MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. She is fluent in Spanish, having fallen in love with the language during her junior year studying in Bogota, Colombia. She has served as President of the Board of Community Yoga, an organization that brings yoga to underserved communities. She is also active with the Interfaith Hospitality Network, providing resources, housing, and meals to homeless families. She lives in Austin with her husband and has two active offspring–a daughter completing high school and a son in college. She looks forward to the day that her family members adopt a regular mindfulness practice. For now, they just attend her Sunday morning class on Mother’s Day! “Lisa and Dana’s yoga retreat exceeded my expectations—I knew I would get the opportunity to practice yoga in a beautiful and exotic setting. What I didn’t anticipate was that as the week progressed a supportive community would develop as our shared adventure connected us to the retreat center and each other. Our leaders guided us with care and purpose, nourishing the physical and spiritual.Group-photo-768x432 We were given an opportunity to silence our inner critics for a week and open our hearts to the experience of being close to nature and each other.

Often during yoga class the teacher tells you to set an intention and take it with you throughout your day. However, once I walk out of class, somehow that intention dissipates as reality takes over. On the yoga retreat, keeping that intention throughout the day became possible and being surrounded by other yogis who were holding on to their intentions created an atmosphere of calm and well-being. It was a magical and meaningful week.” –Liza

“This retreat was spectacularly crafted to offer all who attended the space to open within and also connect with an amazing group of like-minded, strong, powerful women. The teachings offered took us on an internal journey in a most magnificent setting of nature and were beautifully woven together with inspiration and life lessons. We were pampered in lovely accommodations with delicious meals and every detail mindfully tended. All of the women with whom I have stayed connected with since returning home have struggled to put into words the magnitude of this experience. We were fortunate enough to get a real taste of the essence of Costa Rica, or more simply put… Pura Vida! Thank you, Lisa, Dana, and True Nature for the adventure of a lifetime!” –Leigh S.

“I could write an entire narrative about that trip but I will simply jot down some things that stand out in my mind and heart.

  • Impeccable planning made for a successful, enjoyable, and rewarding trip.
  • Lisa and Dana were unbelievable in their ability to work with 24 diverse and strong women.
  • In my opinion, everyone left that retreat feeling like their needs had been met and that they had an experience of a lifetime. For me, it was a life-changing event!
  • I went with a major goal in mind and that was to learn how to ‘Let Go’ and I felt like I met that goal in spades. It was the entire week’s work, the retreat setting, the interesting and inspiring women that I met, the AWESOME leaders, and the grand finale that pulled it all together for me. When Dana read the final reading of ‘Let Go,’ I almost lost it–well maybe I did a little. I knew that my goal had been met. It was so synchronistic.jenny-and-the-sloth-768x576
  • Bottom line – It was a perfect experience for me! Can’t speak for others, but I left the retreat renewed in body, mind, and spirit! THANK YOU, Lisa and Dana and THANK YOU to all of the incredible women with whom I was fortunate enough to get to spend a week of my life within a beautiful and remote retreat setting.” –Rosemary

“The yoga retreat was exactly what I needed for my personal renewal. Lisa and Dana provided a safe and nurturing space for me to practice yoga and bond with a wonderful group of women. The location was beautiful and relaxing along the Pacific Ocean with all the wonders of Costa Rica. To be able to wake up to the sounds of monkeys and view the setting sun while practicing yoga will be forever etched in my mind.Thank you for this wonderful experience, Lisa and Dana!” –Lee

“Lisa and Dana’s retreat was a special and magical experience. 20+ women who were mostly strangers on day one were deeply bonded by day seven. Lisa and Dana created a space for all of us to look within and trust our own wisdom, and to support each other in the process. We laughed and cried, sweated profusely, and generally had a great time. Two months later I still am thrilled to see my Costa Rica sisters in class and can still pick out their voices in a class chant.” –Jeana T
