This is no ordinary Retreat. In addition to being treated to expert daily yoga lessons, beautiful scenery, a beach, and gourmet cuisine, you will also be climbing in the world’s sport climbing Mecca of Kalymnos, Greece!
During daily Yoga for Climbers workshops, Sandra will be teaching how yoga can benefit your climbing performance, both physically and mentally, through strengthening and injury prevention exercises, movement and balance drills as well as breath and mindfulness work. She will also aim to show you how to incorporate yoga into your climbing routine, with warming up sequences in the morning and cooling down in the evenings.
For the climbing, the group will be joined by our highly experienced local guides, who, alongside Sandra, will be showing you around the most scenic crags on the island, as well as some of their mega classic routes.
Level: The retreat is suitable for every level of climber/yogi, but in order to make the most of the trip you should be able to lead 5a as a minimum.

Sandra is an experienced and passionate rock climbing coach and yoga teacher. She has been climbing since 2007 and 4 years later she decided to quit her role as a Marketing and Events Manager for a music festival to dedicate her life to climbing, working as an instructor/coach, route setter, duty, and operations manager at various walls across the South East of England. Sandra has been practicing yoga for over 15 years, and she is a Yoga Alliance qualified teacher. Over the years she has dedicated herself to teaching yoga to a wide range of people, mostly climbers, helping them to discover its benefits to support and improve their own climbing. “My yoga practice is well reflected in the way I climb and teach climbing, with detailed attention to perfect technique and body awareness.” Sandra’s love for Kalymnos started in April 2014 when she first visited the island with her partner and friends. She was immediately spellbound by its beauty, weather, warm people, delicious food and obviously the dramatic-looking crags with their amazing 3D routes. That year, she went back twice more and has been visiting Kalymnos every year since. It’s safe to say that she feels at home there and will be a great person to introduce you to the best spots the island has to offer!
“Joining the Climb and Yoga classes has undoubtedly been one of the best decisions I’ve made. The challenging yet approachable yoga classes led by the C&Y team, along with the unmissable climbing tips have massively improved both my physical and mental ability. This has allowed me to move forward in both disciplines, for which I am immensely grateful. And I’ve made some incredible friendships along the way! Couldn’t ask for more.” – Ashley D.
“Just had 3 days climbing and yoga with Sandra (Dolomites Retreat). I’ve been doing yoga for 20 years but I can honestly say these were the best classes I’ve ever done. There was something for everyone. Highly highly recommend her classes. If I wasn’t in Scotland I would be going to them regularly. Namaste Sandra you rock” – Mandy A.
“Sandra is an absolutely inspirational climbing coach! When she was working at Vauxwall she led the women’s social, whereby she helped me progress from VB to V3/4 in no time at all. She’s not the kind of coach that screams at you to ‘top it!’, but offers you insightful and useful beta (if you want it) and encourages you to go for holds because she knows you’re capable of it. I can’t recommend Sandra enough. Warm, friendly and approachable, she offered me climbing tips both in and out of sessions. Furthermore, she is an incredibly strong (and flexible) female climber which in a world dominated by topless, screaming men is truly a breath of fresh air and inspires women (like me) to take their climbing to the next level. Thank you, Sandra, for all of your hard work!!!” – Kira S-M.
“Sandra Berlin is an exceptional instructor and I cannot praise her qualities enough. I always feel I am being treated at a personal level and she is attentive, understanding and extremely expert. One of the best coaches in any field I have worked with.” – Keith L.

We cannot emphasize more the importance of travel insurance. As we all know, especially as travelers, “life happens.” Whether it’s family, work, mother nature, or a change of heart, it is important to be prepared in case you need to unexpectedly change your travel plans. Often for less than $150, you can purchase a travel insurance policy and be protected in the event that you need to make a change or need to be covered financially prior to or during your trip.
We have partnered with two insurance companies: Trawick International and CSA Travel Insurance (available for U.S. Residents only). For Non-U.S. Residents this policy with Trawick insurance is available: Safe Travels Multi-National.
We encourage you to research the insurance company and policy that best meets your needs.
