Escape and Dare To Explore Retreat
Soufriere, Dominica with Ann Richardson Stevens and Erica Owens
If you think about it, yoga and travel are two activities that bring similar benefits to our body and mind. They both let you know yourself better, push you to do things you probably didn’t know you were capable of, as well as provide you with a state of mind that just makes you feel alive!
Escape with us to expand your yoga practice, reconnect and immerse yourself in nature & adventure. Discover why Dominica is the best-kept secret in the Caribbean. This destination gem is not your average Caribbean island. Its towering mountains, lush green forests, clear blue waters, incredible volcanic landscapes, and 356 winding rivers are practically begging for exploration.
An unbelievably revitalizing experience awaits when you escape to this under-visited slice of natural heaven with Ann & Erica from Studio Bamboo Yoga. We invite you to expand your yoga practice and offer you a space for growth and healing. Ann will offer two yoga classes daily. A morning session that will be more active with detailed alignment-based asana instruction. The evening session will be a more relaxing yin practice. Allowing you to unwind and relax from the day’s activities. Both sessions will focus on breath and sensation. Allowing you to drift into a much-needed savasana at the end of every class. All levels are welcome. We believe if you can breathe. You can do yoga.
In between yoga, spend your 7 days experiencing gourmet cuisine, and local culture, hiking to waterfalls, snorkeling in internationally known Champagne reef, and indulging in spa treatments. Did we mention the 180-degree view of the ocean as your backdrop?
This yoga retreat is the perfect place to escape from everything as you reconnect to yourself and explore the Nature Island of the Caribbean.

Ann Richardson & Erica Owens
Ann and Erica are the owners of Studio Bamboo Yoga in Virginia Beach, Virginia. For over five years they have been leading retreats abroad for their students to be inspired and expand their practice. Their retreats are grounded in learning, adventure, and connection. It’s never about the destination, it’s always about the journey and what we learn along the way.
Ann, who will be your yoga guide for the week, teaches a variety of classes emphasizing technique and alignment, intensives, and teacher training at the 200-hour and 300-hour levels as well as continued education for yoga therapists and yoga teachers. She is a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and a 1000-hour yoga teacher by Beryl Bender Birch and The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute. Ann began yoga in the late ‘90s and quickly realized there was something more to it than just movement. She was
hooked and her fascination with the healing aspects of the practice soon followed. Ann’s teaching style is fun, energetic, and challenging, yet grounding, safe, and supportive.
Two documentaries, “Standing Still/Still Standing”, by Walton Films and “Yoga as Medicine”, by Green Island Films features Ann and two of her adaptive students.

Travel Insurance
We cannot emphasize more the importance of travel insurance. As we all know, especially as travelers, “life happens.” Whether it’s family, work, mother nature, or a change of heart, it is important to be prepared in case you need to unexpectedly change your travel plans. Often for less than $150, you can purchase a travel insurance policy and be protected in the event that you need to make a change or need to be covered financially prior to or during your trip.
Read more about our insurance partners and their policies here. We encourage you to research the insurance company and policy that best meets your needs.
