Cultural excursions are planned to delight and soothe our urbanized senses, reconnecting us back to the power of the elements with renewed reverence. Evening practices of Yin, Restorative, Kirtan and/or Meditation will allow time for absorption and reflection promoting a restful night’s sleep to wake up and emerge anew.

Bali Yoga RetreatsEvery retreat is unique and, as such, the itineraries are ever-changing! We finalize the itineraries about 3-6 weeks before the retreat, but after 10 years of hosting retreats, we do have a general idea of what most schedules look like.

Most retreats include one-to-two daily yoga classes. One class takes place in the morning, either just before or just after breakfast. After the first class and meal, you have free time to explore, relax, or take part in optional add-on activities. Lunch (if included in your retreat) will take place midday, during this free time. There is then, usually, an afternoon class followed by dinner. Occasionally some teachers choose to offer an evening restorative class or group gathering after dinner as well.

In addition, there is usually one dedicated “excursion day” in which we do not have scheduled yoga classes. This is a day for people to take advantage of some of the more involved tour and excursion offerings and is always a lot of fun!

Again, this is a very general look at what your retreat schedule could be. We work closely with the teachers to design unique itineraries that reflect their style and the group that’s traveling with them. Once your specific retreat itinerary is complete, we will send it out via email, usually two or more weeks before the retreat starts. Please keep in mind all retreat itineraries are subject to change.

Accommodations

The retreat will be held at a boutique hotel and yoga retreat oasis located five minutes outside of the village of Ubud, Bali in Indonesia. The center is dedicated to creating a place of happiness where groups or individuals can come to relax, adventure, deepen their practices, eat great food, play in the sun and get back to being themselves.

Enjoy a chic yet unpretentious mix of modern and traditional Balinese design, nestled between a serene river on one side and ancient rice terraces on the other. All of the staff on their amazing team come from nearby villages and will make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The open-air yoga studio is on the third floor of the main villa with breathtaking views of rice terraces, traditional temples, coconut trees, and the jungle canopy. After yoga, cool off with a dip in the pool or enjoy a massage, facial or full body treatment in our spa.

The fresh, organic food is a highlight for all of our guests. All the produce is organic and comes from the retreat center’s garden or the local market. A delicious blend of Balinese and Western cuisine is served in the open air, bamboo roof dining area, crafted amazing local chefs. Vegetarian, vegan, and non-vegetarian options are served alongside an amazing array of colorful juices, smoothies, beer, wine, and tropical cocktails. Upgrade to Raw meals during the retreat for an additional charge. Juices and other specialty drinks are not included in the retreat package.

Amanda Harding

Amanda Harding is the owner of Prema Yoga Brooklyn, where she teaches weekly Vinyasa flow classes as well as private/corporate clients across NYC & Los Angeles through her company, Karuna NYC. She is the creator of a program ‘Yoga on Set’ which provides weekly yoga sessions to the cast and crews of NY based film and television shoots. Currently one of Lululemon’s Brooklyn Ambassadors, she has been featured in Vogue and Origin Magazine and holds yearly sold out retreats to such locales as Tulum, Costa Rica, the Berkshires, Australia, and more. Heavily influenced by Tibetan Buddhist philosophy as well as the Bhakti yoga tradition, Amanda teaches an Ashtanga-influenced vigorous yet mindful and creative class incorporating the fluidity of dance and music/chanting with a heavy emphasis on alignment, breath, patience, and fun. She has witnessed in her own life how creating spaciousness in her body, mind, and heart, and truly ‘walking the walk’ with humility has immensely impacted her relationship with herself and others. Her wish is to impart to her students the many gifts she has received through her ongoing practice and studies–a greater sense of authenticity, inner peace, strength, compassion and, most of all, service to others. Bobbie Marchand

Pursuing her love of dance, Bobbie moved from her native Toronto to NY in 2005. Though the equation of dancer to yoga teacher is a common one; it was an illness that tuned her into the power of a daily, dedicated practice. Bobbie’s classes….well, it depends what you’re coming for. Her vinyasa classes are creative, challenging, and fun. Drawing on her dance background, the sequencing is expressive and fluid while encouraging alignment (and a healthy use of props!). Her yin/stretch/restorative classes are an invitation to pause, yield to the sense of support, turn inward and take the practice to a quiet, nourishing place; away from the external stress of our busy lives. Getting There

You will book airfare to the Denpasar International Airport (DPS), also known as the Ngurah Rai International Airport. Before booking tickets, please be sure you have received your official confirmation note that the retreat has met its minimums. There will be one group airport shuttle each way based on our flight window guidelines. Be sure your flights align with the provided flight windows if you wish to use the group shuttle.
