For many, Ireland also holds the key to ancestral roots and cultural heritage. Enjoy the natural beauty, history, and lore of Ireland while unlocking an easy-going flow during the Kindness is Key retreat with Heidi Sherwin.

Start each day overlooking the awe-inspiring ocean and Cliffs of Moher while Heidi guides you through a heart-centered meditation and an energizing Hatha Flow yoga practice. Afternoons will include opportunities to quietly relax at the center, rejuvenate at the spa, or adventure around the Co. Clare countryside. Learn self-care practices, mantras, and mudras to nurture the keys of creative flow, both on and off the mat. Gourmet vegetarian cuisine will delight the palate at every meal. End each day with the key to deep relaxation during Heidi’s signature restorative yoga class, which incorporates gentle flowing and restorative postures, pranayama, and aromatherapy.

Throughout the retreat, we will enhance our Yoga Sangha (communal gathering) by exploring the 4 Keys of Kindness, Compassion, Happiness for others, and Equanimity. These 4 Keys can unlock our obstacles, allowing for more personal peace and serenity, as well as cultivating harmonious relationships in our communities. Heidi will creatively thread this heart-centric theme into the group’s daily yoga classes, guided meditations, and optional art activities. Special guest and Ireland native, Lisa Hynes, will join the retreat to offer a special class to ignite the courage to keep the 4 keys alive amidst rocky times.

Accommodations

This center is well located, on the west coast of Ireland and Europe about in the middle of the Wild Atlantic Way. This luxury coastal retreat venue is set on 10 acres against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, the Cliffs of Moher and the gorgeous countryside of Co. Clare, Ireland.

The yoga studio is beautifully designed to support your practice overlooking the ocean, farmland and wide open skies. You can watch the wild waters of the Atlantic Ocean from the comfort of the under-floor heated space through a massive wall of glass that takes in the most stunning view. Fully stocked with yoga props and everything you will need for your retreat experience.

There are 14 bedrooms which accommodate up to 30 guests. All but 2 rooms have private bathrooms. The rooms are all tastefully decorated with comfortable mattresses and linen. All the rooms have views, whether of the sea or countryside. The gourmet vegetarian meals are homemade and will delight your palate: beautifully curated, abundant and mouth watering.

Sample Itinerary

Every retreat is unique and, as such, the itineraries are ever-changing! We finalize the itineraries about 3-6 weeks before the retreat, but after 10 years of hosting retreats, we do have a general idea of what most schedules look like.

Most retreats include one-to-two daily yoga classes. One class takes place in the morning, either just before or just after breakfast. After the first class and meal, you have free time to explore, relax, or take part in optional add-on activities. Lunch (if included in your retreat) will take place midday, during this free time. There is then, usually, an afternoon class followed by dinner. Occasionally some teachers choose to offer an evening restorative class or group gathering after dinner as well.

In addition, there is usually one dedicated “excursion day” in which we do not have scheduled yoga classes. This is a day for people to take advantage of some of the more involved tour and excursion offerings and is always a lot of fun!

Again, this is a very general look at what your retreat schedule could be. We work closely with the teachers to design unique itineraries that reflect their style and the group that’s traveling with them. Once your specific retreat itinerary is complete, we will send it out via email, usually two or more weeks before the retreat starts. Please keep in mind all retreat itineraries are subject to change.

Heidi Sherwin, E-RYT 200

Heidi Sherwin has been inspired by the roots of yoga and holistic health practices for over 20 years, and started teaching yoga in 2007. Her sincere, fun and creative teaching style intelligently joins the philosophical and physical practices of Hatha Yoga. Heidi teaches a variety of classes, including vinyasa flow, prenatal, postnatal, slow flow, and restorative yoga. Through her nurturing guidance of insightful alignment, flowing sequences, and awakened breathing, she provides a positive space for you to locate your authentic inner GPS. Be free to shine yourself with confidence, joy and ease.

Heidi is the owner of Moonbow Yoga and Wellness, which provides 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training programs, yoga classes and workshops, doula services, aromatherapy education, and creativity workshops. She offers her teachings primarily in Morgantown, WV at BlissBlissBliss Massage and Yoga, but enjoys traveling and sharing yoga with other communities. When not on the yoga mat, Heidi may be found playing outside, crafting, cooking, or spending Q.T. with her awesome husband, three daughters, and Australian Shepherd.

Getting There

You will be booking your flights for the Shannon Airport (SNN). Before booking tickets, please be sure you have received your official confirmation note that the retreat has met its minimums. There will be one group airport shuttle each way based on our flight window guidelines. Be sure your flights align with the provided flight windows if you wish to use the group shuttle.
