This Italian Center sits just above the sea. A stroll through the small village below puts you right into the marina, strewn with colorful fishing boats and cafes. At the center, you can stroll among the typical Sorrento lemon garden or curl up on a cozy couch in one of the many corridors for a contemplative rest. From most everywhere in the convent, one can enjoy a view of the Naples Gulf, Mount Vesuvio, Capri, Ischia, and Procida.
Anna Argeropoulos began her yoga practice in her living room at the age of 8, along with her mom and a book they checked out of the library. Over the years, she has been a devoted practitioner of various styles – from Bikram to Kundalini to Ashtanga and everything in between. She has taught yoga in New York, Chicago, and Milwaukee for over 12 years, and initially trained in New York under Dana Flynn and Jasmine Tarkeshi at Laughing Lotus Yoga. Her continuing studies in thai massage, kung fu, and the Indian martial art of kalaripayattu have helped broaden her perspective on how the body works. She currently is a passionate student of biomechanics and kinesiology, and is registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT at the 500-hour level and a provider of continuing education. Anna’s teaching style is accessible, creative, flowing, and rooted in the practical application of anatomy and how the body moves; her ultimate goal is to create in her students knowledge of self, and a healthy path of practice for a long time to come.
“Anna is a true practitioner of yoga–both on and off her mat. My practice has grown and flourished under her thoughtful guidance. She seamlessly weaves yogic philosophy and the sutras into her teaching, making the mind-body connection apparent to all of her students.”
“Anna is an inspiring teacher whose passion for yoga is infectious. Each of her classes challenges your physical limits through strong vinyasa flows, but Anna’s ability to weave philosophy, music, kindness and laughter into her classes is truly what exhilarates her students.”
“Yoga with Anna isn’t just a yoga class. In addition to a physical and mental work-out (set to awesome music), Anna will often share inspiring poetry, muse upon yogic philosophy and, if you’re lucky, close class with her amazing voice in a beautiful chant. I always leave her class feeling rejuvenated in mind, body and spirit.”
