Join Kelly Carter and Lauren Farina on a journey to the ancient Sacred Valley of Peru. We believe life is meant to experience all the world has to offer us while moving from a place of compassion and love. We sometimes forget to take time for ourselves to rest, play, and rejuvenate our spirit. This week will be a time for adventure, reflection and also time to tap into your spiritual heart and the connection we have with the earth and to all beings everywhere. We are so excited to travel to Peru and share the teachings we love in one of the most energetically charged places in the world.
Our days will include daily yoga practice, hiking, ceremony, community service, exploration, and plenty of “you” time.
There is also an additional option following the retreat to join us on a tour of Machu Picchu and the surrounding area.

Sach’a Munay, the center’s name, translates as “love from the ancient forest.” It is nestled in an oasis of native plants and fruit trees, nourished by a magnificent waterfall in the Sacred Valley of Peru. This lovely spot is in the Andes Mountains and home of the twelve mountains known as Apus—“luminous beings.” Those who come to the center have the opportunity to commune directly with these mountains, as well as with the local curanderos and pacos (healers), who engage with us for ritual and ceremony.
The guests at this center enjoy delicious meals with locally-grown and lovingly-prepared ingredients. Each guest room is a reflection of the Peruvian culture of the Sacred Valley. The entire center embodies kindness, love, and wholeness that seem to permeate the magical place.
I first started teaching in 2009, and since then, I have continued to grow as a teacher and student. I am blessed by many teachers in my life and have learned powerful lessons from each along the way. Every day is an opportunity for growth and to be kind to others.
I have completed trainings with Baron Baptiste, and my practice and teaching is rooted in the Baptiste Methodology. What I love about the practice is that I will continue to always be a student; there is something new to learn each day from my students and in my own practice.
My sister and I opened Shakti Power Yoga in Nashville in 2012 and every day I am grateful for our community and the space we have created together. I am blessed by the growth and support of our community.
Yoga has transformed my life and I am grateful I can be a service to others by sharing my passion. Yoga has allowed me to unfold a strength in my body, an ease in my mind, and an openness in my heart that I did not know was there. My yoga classes are powerful, playful, and they challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and find more truth and authenticity on and off the mat.
I am so excited to be leading this retreat to Peru with my sister, Kelly. Together we create a powerful team of love, growth, connection, and fun. Peru is a magical place and I am excited to explore the beauty the country provides and connect with all of you. Cheers to spending a week to rejuvenate the body, mind, and soul.
I began practicing yoga in 2006. It didn’t take long till I started to see the effects of how the practice impacted my life. I am passionate about my practice and have the desire to share this passion with the world. I have completed teacher trainings with Baron Baptiste, Johnna Smith, and Sumit Banerjee. I teach mostly power yoga vinyasa because it changed my life. Building the Shakti community with my sister Lauren has been one of my greatest adventures. This community has come together through a shared love of yoga and continues to grow and expand outside the studio walls. I am inspired by the leaders and teachers at Shakti Power Yoga and leaders from the Baptiste community who motivate me to continue to move forward and expand my boundaries. My husband has been my biggest support and the way his business impacts Nashville continues to inspire me. Workshops, teacher trainings, and destination retreats have brought me so much joy, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to co-lead retreats with the woman I love and admire, Lauren. We offer a retreat that will give you the opportunity to rejuvenate, reconnect with yourself and others, practice, practice, practice, and immerse yourself in the experience of the beauty of Peru.
