Sun, Moon & Santosha Retreat

Ubud, Bali Retreat with Carole Westerman

Experience the essence of Santosha, contentment, in magical Bali.

This retreat will include both Sun (energizing) and Moon (nourishing) practices each day, with teachings that will span the Eight Limbs of Yoga. Start each day with Mindfulness and a Sun practice including; Slow Flow, Vinyasa and Kundalini. Following practice, kick your day off with a healthy and fortifying breakfast. From there your days are spent in the practice of Santosha, as you explore all that Bali has to offer, including optional add-on excursions. If excursions aren’t your thing, you can relax by the pool, hike, get a spa treatment, spend time with others in community, nap, journal, or anything that feeds your soul! Evenings will include a Moon practice, such as Yin, Restorative, Yoga Nidra and/or Somatics.

Included in your stay are 3 gorgeous, colorful and abundant meals per day! After our early evening practice, a replenishing and delicious dinner will await you and your new community (Sangha). Following dinner, the evening is full of delights! You may choose to have a juice, mocktail or drink in conversation with friends. Some evenings have options for music and/or dancing. Or maybe you prefer a dip in the pool, or time reading in your room. You get to create the daily rhythm that brings you back to harmony and balance, knowing you have options that are authentically you!

This retreat is open to all interested. No Yoga experience necessary, a curious and open heart is all that is required. Yoga Teachers may attend this retreat for 25 CEUs and/or hours towards your 300-Hour with Carole. In the OIC 300-Hour, this retreat counts as 1.5 weekends. Those wanting to use this retreat for YTT hours, will also need to purchase a required book and complete a homework assignment on the 8 Limbs and Personal Sadhana. Carole will provide more information as we get closer to the event.

Accommodations

The retreat will be held at a boutique hotel and yoga retreat oasis located five minutes outside of the village of Ubud, Bali in Indonesia. The center is  dedicated to creating a place of happiness where groups or individuals can come to relax, adventure, deepen their practices, eat great food, play in the sun and get back to being themselves.

Enjoy a chic yet unpretentious mix of modern and traditional Balinese design, nestled between a serene river on one side and ancient rice terraces on the other. All of the staff on their amazing team come from nearby villages, and will make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The open air yoga studio is on the third floor of the main villa with breathtaking views of rice terraces, traditional temples, coconut trees, and the jungle canopy. After yoga, cool off with a dip in the pool or enjoy a massage, facial or full body treatment in our spa.

The fresh, organic food is a highlight for all of our guests. All the produce is organic and comes from the retreat center’s garden or the local market. A delicious blend of Balinese and Western cuisine is served in the open air, bamboo roof dining area, crafted by amazing local chefs. Vegetarian, vegan, and non-vegetarian options are available. Upgrade to Raw meals during the retreat for an additional charge. Juices, smoothies, beer, wine and tropical cocktails are not included in the retreat package.

Travel Insurance

We cannot emphasize more the importance of travel insurance. As we all know, especially as travelers, “life happens.” Whether it’s family, work, mother nature, or a change of heart, it is important to be prepared in case you need to unexpectedly change your travel plans. Often for less than $150, you can purchase a travel insurance policy and be protected in the event that you need to make a change or need to be covered financially prior to or during your trip.

Read more about our insurance partners and their policies here. We encourage you to research the insurance company and policy that best meets your needs.
