Immerse yourself in one of earth’s most sacred places and return home balanced and renewed.
Bali is a highly spiritual place, with palpable energy that emanates from both the land and its people. Within the culture, it’s recognized that opposing forces are always at play in our lives and it’s our moral responsibility to find balance between these forces. By becoming a balanced individual, we in turn support the balance of nature and all that exists within it.
On this retreat to Bali, you’ll have an opportunity to connect with nature and all its elements, tap into the land’s exquisite energy, and even move your own energy to find innate balance and liberation.
Each day will offer transformative yoga practices led by both Justina Sanford and Katie Mitchell, that include asana, meditation, pranayama, Reiki, essential oils, assisting and massage. The practices will be specifically designed with an energetic intention to bring synergy and harmony into your body, heart, and mind and begin healing your whole system. You’ll have the opportunity to practice yoga and meditation up to two times a day, partake in excursions, eat meals prepared fresh daily—with many ingredients from the property’s garden, and immerse yourself in the spa-like eco-lodge of Bumi Cinta.
In true Ignite Yoga fashion, we aim to deliver an incredible experience that you will remember for a lifetime.
Yoga Style and Offerings
Justina and Katie have over 20 years of combined experience leading yoga and meditation practices. On this retreat, one daily asana practice will be intended to stoke more energy with intentionally sequenced vinyasa and pranayama practices, followed by deep semi-guided meditation. The second practice of the day will focus on slowing down to become more mindful of the body and the way that it moves and feels. The second practice may be gentle vinyasa, restorative yoga, yin yoga, yoga nidra, or a combination of all practices. The experience you have within your practice is more the focus of this retreat rather than the style of yoga taught. Inner balance is the goal, and all practices will be aimed to restore. Classes will be beginner to intermediate friendly.

Justina Sanford – Retreat Leader, 500 E-RYT
Justina began practicing and studying yoga with what felt like every style available. She found a love for Power yoga and the way it challenged students differently than other styles she had practiced. “It woke me up. Before, I was just floating around, but Power yoga shook something into me.” Justina has since been studying personal development and thought leadership and bringing it to the yoga practice.
Justina is the owner of Ignite Yoga and has been teaching yoga since 2010, is a 500+ E-RYT, and has been leading and assisting yoga teacher trainings, retreats, and immersions since 2012. She’s a certified Baptiste Yoga instructor and has assisted in hosting weekend and week-long programs with the Baptiste Institute. Justina has further studied with instructors such as Noah Maze, Rocky Heron, Sadie Nardini, Seane Corn, and Matt Giordano, receiving an additional 300-hour training in Chromatic Yoga and certification in Core Strength Vinyasa. Furthermore, she’s attended immersive business and leadership programs w Tony Robbins and Baron Baptiste and has done extensive self-study on the topics of emotion, communication, business, and human psychology. She also holds bachelors degrees in both Music Therapy and Psychology.
When she’s not sharing yoga, you’ll find Justina outside on the hiking trails, spending time with her three pups, hubs, and daughter, traveling, or learning something new—like the newest endeavor of playing harmonium.
Katie Mitchell – Facilitator, 200 E-RYT
Katie began practicing yoga at her local YMCA in 2009 and slowly built a steady home practice over the following years. Her desire for community led her to find Ignite Yoga, where she dove into teacher training. She describes her classes and teaching style as laid back and cheerful. “As a mother of three boys, you learn to keep your head cool and your heart open.”
Katie has been teaching yoga since 2015 and is a 200 hour E-RYT. She’s also certified through Yoga Alliance as a Continuing Education Provider. She has a natural instinct to work with beginner yoga students and has since created numerous programs for Ignite Yoga to support this clientele (as it’s her most fulfilling calling.) Katie cares deeply about teaching with respect to the roots of yoga and has done extensive self-study on the topics of cultural appropriation and yoga ethics. Katie is currently expanding her learning in the realm of Reiki and herbal medicine.
Some of Katie’s favorite things to do outside of the studio include playing in the sunshine, loving up her fam, and generally trying to enjoy all that life has to offer.

Travel Insurance
We cannot emphasize more the importance of travel insurance. As we all know, especially as travelers, “life happens.” Whether it’s family, work, mother nature, or a change of heart, it is important to be prepared in case you need to unexpectedly change your travel plans. Often for less than $150, you can purchase a travel insurance policy and be protected in the event that you need to make a change or need to be covered financially prior to or during your trip.
We have partnered with two insurance companies: Trawick International and CSA Travel Insurance (available for U.S. Residents only).
Read more about our insurance partners and their policies here. We encourage you to research the insurance company and policy that best meets your needs.
