Julie attended her first yoga class in 1999, with the idea that it would be a fun, new way to move the body, and enjoy dinner with good friends after class. She was pleasantly surprised at the depth of the practice and the options for growth in experience that took her to a whole new level and perspective of how she would come to define “yoga”. Moving forward, it became a way of life instead of a form of exercise.

Julie has been an educator in many capacities for more than 20 years. She is a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) and a Pain Care Aware Lead Trainer. She is the owner and founder of Santosha Yoga Therapy LLC where she primarily works with people in areas such as: chronic pain, autoimmune diseases, functional yoga therapy, and mental health (i.e. anxiety, depression, and grief).

Julie offers private sessions working with clients of all ages, and also supports the individual with an On Demand Yoga Therapy Library meeting each person where they are on their own health and wellness journey.

In addition, she teaches on a project-by-project basis with HealthPartners Neuroscience Center and TRIA Orthopedic Center in MN. Julie is an educator at heart leading seminars, trainings, and retreats in various locations.
Off the mat, Julie enjoys travel, hiking, reading, camping, and truly treasures time with family and friends. To this day, Julie loves continuing her education of yoga and meditation and sharing it with others.

“Julie exudes a genuine passion for yoga and embraces it as a way of life. She is a gentle presence during yoga. Julie made me feel comfortable during class and also challenged me to try new things.” -Lisa

“Julie’s professionalism is supported by her warmth, patience and kindness. She is accessible, responsive and organized. Julie applies her depth of knowledge to my very specific needs. Plus she’s fun! I plan to work with Julie again in the future. Not sure I can live without her…” -Anne

“Julie has a very calming, encouraging, and supportive manner. Her instruction is effectively differentiated to accommodate many different levels of ability. She provides a safe and accepting environment.” -Kris

“Julie is a natural teacher and leader. She has a way of speaking directly to places inside of you that are stuck with deep compassion and directness. Her approach allows you to access places that you’ve been resisting, feel what needs to be felt and create clear steps for tangibly moving forward in your life. I highly recommend her!” -Amy

Travel Insurance

We cannot emphasize more the importance of travel insurance. As we all know, especially as travelers, “life happens.” Whether it’s family, work, mother nature, or a change of heart, it is important to be prepared in case you need to unexpectedly change your travel plans. Often for less than $150, you can purchase a travel insurance policy and be protected in the event that you need to make a change or need to be covered financially prior to or during your trip.
