Treat yourself to a luxurious week in Puglia, Italy, with Daphne Larkin, and explore the unlimited potential of your life.

This week is dedicated to opening to new perspectives and creating space for the life you crave.  Daphne will guide you through daily yoga practices and meditations that reflect your life’s beautiful story.  Days will be spacious – with yoga, walks on the property, relaxing poolside, and exploring nearby towns.  Every detail of the week has been intentionally selected just for you.

Daphne’s retreats are known for their spaciousness, allowing time for much-needed balance.  Days will begin with a morning yoga practice followed by a wide, open space for the day’s activities.  Daphne’s yoga practices are deep, vinyasa flow explorations into the subtle layers of the body as an energetic container.   She is known for the fluid grace of her practice with integrated alignment and intentional sequencing that allows all levels of students to explore the depths of their practice.  Morning practices will be stronger, in nature and allow students to grow their practice in new ways.   In the quiet space of the early evening, we’ll gather for a subtler, more restorative practice, meditation, and journaling to unravel the places we’ve been and soften them into possibility.

Here’s your invitation to show up for yourself!

Accommodations

This retreat center is located in Puglia, in southern Italy. The NY Post calls this region magical and Lonely Planet put it in its 2014 must-see places list. This area is full of historic and cultural sites. Beautiful beaches are easily accessible. Martina Franca, the closest town, has a particularly beautiful old town surrounded by stone walls with prominent Baroque gates leading to piazzas and narrow, winding streets.

The retreat will be held at an intimate yoga center located in Martina Franca. This is a must-see and experience center- the architecture and decor are exquisite. There are ten rooms with occupancy varying from singles to triples and all are consciously decorated. Each room at this center is unique and the size of the rooms vary. The location is imbued with deeply spiritual, friendly, and calm energy that will be felt throughout your visit. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared daily and include healthy vegetarian options along with fish. The food is local and organic when available and prepared with nourishing ingredients. This center has a focus on their food philosophy, which features a cleansing element. The grounds contain lovely gardens, a swimming pool, a wild forest and fields, and a tiny church. There is plenty of space to walk and be free.

Daphne Larkin

Daphne Larkin is an inspired vinyasa yoga teacher and industry leader based in Nashville, Tennessee.  Known as a teacher’s teacher, she has spent her life studying movement, music and the creative arts.   In 2004, she co-founded Sanctuary for Yoga in Nashville where she directs Sanctuary’s Teacher Training programs and has been training teachers since 2008.  Over her 20-year teaching career, Daphne has created 2 popular instructional yoga DVDs, an online studio featuring 21 Days of Yoga and most recently released her new book A Curated Life: Creating Space for the Life You Crave.

Always inspired by the creative process, Daphne’s life has included extensive work as a performing artist and a vibrant 12-year music industry career.  She has completed trainings in both the Iyengar and Vinyasa traditions and is certified at the ERYT500 level.  Committed to fully immersing herself into her studies, she dedicated a decade-plus to traveling and studying yoga, finding inspiration in many teachers. Her most profound influence has been Shiva Rea, with whom she spent more than 10 years studying and assisting around the world.

As a teacher, she is known for the fluid grace of her practice and her skillful balance of alignment and flow.  Her teaching is clear and authentic –  fueled by her passionate curiosity about both the shapes and alignment of poses, but also transitions and the powerful potential of the space between.  Her classes are fluid journeys through an intentional sequence of poses that lead us deeper into ourselves.  The effect is grounding, spacious and balanced.

Daphne teaches weekly classes in Nashville, leads trainings and retreats internationally and continues to find new perspective both on and off the mat.

Testimonials

“One of my first discoveries when I started practicing yoga back in 2004 was the Sanctuary for Yoga studio in Green Hills. I quickly gravitated to Daphne Larkin and her style of teaching. I call her the OG of Yoga Goddess Warriors. She takes you on a physical and spiritual journey every class encouraging you to meet yourself exactly where you are and leading you to expand your heart and mind spaces. Her practice is so elegant and gorgeous to watch that it could be intimidating BUT she quickly dispels any myths about what yoga is supposed to look like with her humorous wittiness and gentle reminders that nothing magical will happen if you achieve some out of reach challenging pose. She instilled in me the belief that whenever I step onto my mat, my practice is my own safe space of self-discovery and expression. My body and mind literally thank me each time we conclude a class with Daphne. Yoga literally changed my life and I truly believe it was in part because of Daphne’s wisdom and guidance in helping me establish a practice I know I’ll return to my whole life.”Ali H.

“Daphne Larkin is the essence of an embodied teacher…Passionate, intelligent, and original. She teaches from the place that her soul has traveled. Of all the teachers that I have practiced with worldwide, Daphne is still one of my all-time favorites.” – Simon P.

“Yoga is a great love of mine, and I’m grateful for the wisdom that Daphne has added to my practice. In particular, she shows me with asana, there are many paths to the destination, an arm balance, a bound fold, a soaring standing balance. I love re-learning many are the ways, one is the journey.” – Ashley J.

“Daphne’s ‘A Curated Life’ journaling, meditation, yoga workshop literally changed my life.  She opened my mind, heart and spirit and cemented my new life’s journey.  I truly am exactly where I’m supposed to be – Daphne taught me that.  And she helped me see that there are still endless possibilities on this journey of life.  Her guidance and love of her craft have created ripples that will extend forever and I am forever grateful.” Bonnie K.

While on your retreat you will have the opportunity to take part in the following excursions:

  • Local Market in Martina Franca: Just a short trip from the center, you will be delighted to visit this quaint and historic village on their market day. The old quarter of this town is a picturesque scene of winding alleys, blinding white houses, and blood-red geraniums. There are graceful baroque and rococo buildings here too, plus airy piazzas and curlicue iron-work balconies that almost touch above the narrow streets. This town is the highest in Murgia and was founded in the 10th century by refugees fleeing the Arab invasion of Taranto. You will have the chance to walk the cobblestone streets and see old churches, amazing architecture, and shop at the open-air market. This trip is 3-4 hours and the cost is 12€.
  • Day Trip to Ostuni Village & Beach Ostuni: Known as the “white town,” Ostuni Village is located near the sea. Ostuni shines like a pearly white tiara, extending across three hills with the magnificent gem of a cathedral as its sparkling centerpiece. It’s the end of the Trulli region and the beginning of the hot, dry Salento. The city boasts its nearby pristine beaches, historical architecture, and its surroundings, as well as a vibrant olive and grape agribusiness. You will have the chance to roam through this enchanting village and also have time to visit a nearby beach. This is a full-day excursion and is 38€.
