Carol Mason

Carol Mason, ERYT500, and Director of Movement Arts, has been practicing Hatha, Vinyasa yoga, and Pilates since 2000 and Yin yoga since 2008. What was originally a means of getting back into fitness turned into a deep appreciation for yoga’s subtle magic in grounding spiritual principles into physical practice. Carol completed her 200-hour teacher training at Movement Arts in 2012. She bought the studio in January 2020 and navigated COVID-19 by bringing the studio online, creating an extensive video library, and continuing to live-stream classes for students near and far.  She continues to deepen her practice by studying with Douglas Keller every year to gain a comprehensive understanding of both physical and subtle anatomy. Completing her 300-hour training in 2023, she has developed a practice for healthy aging.  Balancing the more meditative and calming aspects of Yin with the more energizing aspects of Vinyasa Flow and Pilates, her schedule provides a dynamic and transformative collection of classes. Committed to physical alignment, mindfulness on and off the mat, connection to the breath, and living with joy.

Testimonials

Carol, along with True Nature Travels, did an excellent job of organizing the yoga retreat at Tuscany’s Locanda Cugnanello. The logistics of getting to the villa went smoothly, and pre- and post-trip instructions were helpful. Our stay at the villa was an amazing experience. The yoga was soul nourishing, the food was excellent, and the cultural activities/excursions were enriching. I am looking forward to my next yoga retreat with Carol and True Nature Travels.  – Deanna W

I recently returned from the Movement Arts retreat in Tuscany, and I am still reflecting on this amazing experience! The 800-year-old villa was gorgeous and the staff charming and attentive…not to mention the food!  However, it was the seamless planning with a schedule for each day that I really appreciated.  The guides that were provided for our day trips to Volterra and Siena were top-notch… the whole retreat was a perfect combination of daily yoga, relaxation, and activity with a terrific group of yogis.  Kudos to Carol for creating this Italian adventure! – Mary R

The Movement Arts Italy retreat was a delight for the soul!  A lovely blend of yoga, sightseeing, and community.  – Lisa K

Locanda Cugnanello is an 800-year-old villa steeped in history, and it is the most beautiful place to stay. The retreat there sneaks up on you in the best way. One moment you’re stretching in the Tuscan sun, and the next you’re laughing over amazing homemade pasta we made ourselves, wondering how life ever felt stressful. Carol guided our practice with ease and calm, making it feel effortless. Emily’s sessions were like hitting a reset button for the mind. The group energy was magic. The staff was incredible, and the food was simply unforgettable. We enjoyed amazing excursions, yet still had plenty of time to ourselves to wander, reflect, or simply soak it all in. We showed up as strangers and left like friends you’ve known forever. I came home lighter, happier, and already thinking about the next one.  Con gratitudine e congedo 🙏🏾 – Carla C

Travel Insurance

We cannot emphasize more the importance of travel insurance. As we all know, especially as travelers, “life happens.” Whether it’s family, work, mother nature, or a change of heart, it is important to be prepared in case you need to unexpectedly change your travel plans. Often for less than $150, you can purchase a travel insurance policy and be protected in the event that you need to make a change or need to be covered financially prior to or during your trip.

We have partnered with Trawick International (available for U.S. Residents only). Read more about their policies here. We encourage you to research the insurance company and policy that best meets your needs.
