Moving Energy Retreat In Playa Uvita, Costa Rica
With Alexandria Clark and Candace Haluska

Every so often we need to step out of our inner city and step into the wilderness of our soul. This retreat is perfect for you to step away from all the noise and chaos that surrounds you daily. Recharge your batteries, take in an adventure or two and enjoy the epic, biodiversity Costa Rica has to offer.  Join Alex and Candace for an exhilarating week of eating nourishing gourmet meals, making new friends (or bringing some with you), and practicing your yoga poses. Work on movement and mobility, meditation, breath-work, and most importantly…relaxation.

We’ll begin days with morning Yoga practices conducted in a spectacular yoga studio that opens with views of the beautiful rainforests and majestic mountains.  Firstly, practices start with several breathing exercises meant to increase and awaken Prana (energy) and seamlessly transition into meditation.  Afterward, the movements include sun salutations, decompressive, compressive, twists, and heart-opening poses that help to align the body and release tight tissues.  In the late afternoon enjoy the second yoga class, followed by restorative postures that will leave you feeling grounded and relaxed.

Following a healthy and tasty lunch, there is plenty of time to lounge on a hammock, walk the pristine beaches, take a dip in the pool, or check out one of the many spa packages. More of a thrill seeker? Take a hike through one of Costa Rica’s rainforest trails, or try zip-lining or surfing!  There are so many things to see and do during your time on this retreat. Find your unique oasis and be introduced to a way of thinking, performing, and feeling. Overall, allowing you to gain energy, feel incredible, and accomplish more in every aspect of your life.

Feeling a bit stuck, stressed, or energy-deficient? Then this retreat is just what you need!  If your Life Force (“Prana”) is stagnant, take this opportunity to embark on a journey to a happier healthier you.

Or Alex, which most people have come to know her as, is an E-RYT 200 certified yoga instructor with southern Georgian roots.  Though from Georgia, she was raised in Virginia Beach and spent most of her childhood at the beach and in competitive sports.  After high school, she soon came to the realization that her body could no longer take the strain and constant impact that competitive sports required. In college, she began to explore different avenues of exercise and was dragged to her first yoga class in 2005. The practice was very different from any other activity she had done in the past. From a vigorous sport background, yoga wasn’t love at first sight. She found it a bit boring and had a hard time slowing down and connecting to it. However, she continued to go to classes and soon found herself to be less stressed, more energetic, and generally happier.  It wasn’t until a severe car accident in 2006 that brought her closer to her practice and pushed her towards teaching.

In 2007, Alex received her 200-hour Yoga Certification at Chesapeake Hot Yoga with Arianna Gallagher.  Since then, Alex has committed to a regular practice of multi-styled yoga and draws inspiration from a variety of lineages, including her gymnastics background. She completed her 500-hour Training in both Tantra Yoga and Yoga Therapy with high marks. Alex is the proud owner of TEALL Transformation Yoga where she continues to teach and encourages people to explore the yoga practice.

Candace is an RYT-200, Yoga Alliance, instructor. She began teaching in 2012 after completing her Teacher Training in Okinawa Japan while pregnant with her first child. However, her yoga journey started way back in 2006 while her husband was deployed to Iraq, she took her very first yoga class on base Camp Lejuene North Carolina. The sense of relief and grounding she felt in that very first class has continued to provide her with comfort and calm in a hectic Military Lifestyle for many years.
Candace has taught in several different settings, from studios in Virginia, to Gyms in Japan and Hawaii, to group volunteer work with Military members and their families.
You can find a welcoming smile, a “just do you” philosophy and a few bad jokes when attending one of Candace’s classes. Whether you are lying in savasana and breathing or jumping into a chatarunga you are practicing yoga. Candace hopes that everyone will feel welcome no matter if it’s your very first yoga class or your one thousandth.
“I feel blessed to have lived in many different areas of the world and to have met many different people. These opportunities have allowed me to work and practice in several unique settings, which have added great depth to my practice and the way in which I teach…”
Candace currently lives in Chesapeake VA with her family of five.
