Join Janelle and Katie for a week of yoga, adventures, and fun! Embracing the “Pura Vida” way of life Costa Rica is known for, you will get a chance to leave behind the worries of your day to day life and experience the “live simply” mentality.

Stay energized with a variety of yoga and fitness classes with a new chance to move your body every day. The retreat is “choose your own adventure” style so when it comes to classes you can choose to catch up on some sleep or get up and get active. Our goal is to provide the perfect balance of activities to strengthen, renew, and nourish your mind, body, and soul. 

All fitness levels are welcome and encouraged! 



Wake up each day with endless opportunities in the beautiful Costa Rica landscape! 

MORNINGS: Kickstart your day with an optional (but encouraged!) yoga class or sweat session. Classes will vary from Power Vinyasa Yoga to Yoga Sculpt to a partner HIIT workout on the beach!

DAYS: After an energizing workout, the day is yours! You and your fellow retreat goers can choose to spend the day relaxing on the beach, treating yourself to a massage or facial at the spa, or adventure out onto one of the many excursions available like zip-lining, kayaking or surfing!

EVENINGS: Wind down with a restorative yoga flow or participate in one of our community bonding activities and journal reflection sessions.

  • 7 nights accommodations (1 night at Airport Hotel and 6 nights at Retreat Center)

Beautiful, eco-friendly accommodations situated amidst acres of lush gardens, hiking trails, and a secluded jungle trail leading to Playa Uvita, a beautiful beach (only a 15-minute walk). The atmosphere of the retreat center is simple, healthy, and relaxed. Rooms are single or double occupancy. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared daily and include healthy vegetarian options along with fish and/or chicken. The food is organic when available and prepared with nourishing ingredients.

Gorgeous bungalow-style accommodations all with huge ocean views, where you can see Ballena National Marine Park, the rainforest, and much more. All of the rooms are made from reforested wood from our trees planted on the same land 20 years ago. The architecture includes local craftsmanship using wood, stone, shell, and sand.

Katie & Janelle

Janelle and Katie met during their time doing yoga for trade at their local studio. They were excited to see each other on the first day of Yoga Teacher Training and have been great friends ever since! They are passionate about traveling, spreading the joy they find through yoga, and building a strong community of passionate, fun-loving individuals. Katie’s upbeat energy combined with Janelle’s calm and supportive demeanor make them a balanced duo, excited to lead a diverse group of students through this beautiful journey in Costa Rica! Janelle and Katie were drawn to Playa Uvita’s serene landscape surrounded by stunning ocean views, and the ecolodge’s commitment to environmental sustainability. They are both thrilled to be experiencing Costa Rica for the first time together at this beautiful retreat center! 

Katie Caro

Katie is a Los Angeles based yoga instructor with a focus in Power Vinyasa and Yoga Sculpt. Growing up, Katie found it difficult to find inspiration or joy through physical fitness. After dealing with years of back pain and sciatica, she decided it was time to find a way to relieve some of the pain. She soon fell in love with spin classes and HIIT workouts, but yoga turned out to be the most transformative for her overall. Katie’s passion for yoga deepened further when she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2017. She currently teaches at CorePower Yoga in Hollywood and leads special classes and workshops around LA, including her most recent 90-minute “Intro to Yoga” Workshop co-led by Janelle.

While she is still navigating her own injuries, Katie is passionate about helping others find their bliss through physical activities that work for them, wherever their bodies are at. Her classes are fun, upbeat, and welcoming for all levels of students! She encourages smiling, laughing, and building community through interactions in class. Katie is thrilled to get to share her excitement and love for fitness with all of the amazing people coming to Costa Rica.

Janelle Moore

Janelle first began practicing yoga for its many health benefits, but soon realized the impact it was having on her personal evolution. Yoga has contributed to her greater awareness of authenticity, gratitude, self-love, and patience. Janelle realized she wanted to share her passion for yoga with others, and completed her 200-Hour Teacher Training with Corepower Yoga in 2017.  In addition to teaching weekly power and sculpt classes at Corepower, she is a volunteer instructor with Prison Yoga+Meditation, which brings yoga classes to incarcerated individuals at various correctional facilities throughout the Los Angeles area.

Janelle’s goal as an instructor is to provide a safe space for participants of all backgrounds to practice and discover the transformative benefits of yoga for the mind, body, and soul. She is always looking for ways to deepen her yoga practice, both as a teacher and a student. She is excited about co-leading this retreat with Katie and looks forward to guiding you through an incredible experience.

Getting There 

You will be booking your flights for the San Jose International Airport (SJO). Before booking tickets, please be sure you have received your official confirmation note that the retreat has met its minimums. There will be one group airport shuttle each way based on our flight window guidelines. Be sure your flights align with the provided flight windows if you wish to use the group shuttle.
