Join Kay Corpus M.D., Integrative & Functional Medicine Physician, 500 RYT as well as Sarah Ballard, compassionate educator, 500 RYT for a magical, life-changing and healing journey at an amazing beachfront eco-conscious resort located on the Nicola Peninsula in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Costa Rica is known as one of the happiest countries in the world and this particular area is home to one of the world’s ‘Blue Zone’ regions where people live much longer than average. Pura Vida is absolutely way of life here!

In addition to local adventures, learning about indigenous healing practices, restorative time, and community service, Kay and Sarah will lead 2 classes a day in a down-to-earth practice of yoga fundamentals, movement, and breathing. The guided asana and meditation will promote self-inquiry and self-discovery leading to the wisdom of your heart and to healing.

Each class will give care and intention to help you integrate body, mind, heart, and soul bringing inspiration and opening to the deepest parts of your being.

Accommodations

The retreat will be held at an intimate beachfront hotel and yoga center located in Santa Teresa, a breathtaking white sand beach on the Pacific Ocean of Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula. Situated on four acres of unspoiled tropical beach, you will find beautiful swimming areas and also outcroppings of rock where natural tide pools form. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared daily and include healthy vegetarian options along with fish and/or chicken. The food is organic when available and prepared with nourishing ingredients.

Kay Corpus

Pioneering physician, servant leader, transformational teacher, and spiritual companion. Kay is a trained family physician specializing in functional & integrative medicine and lifestyle coaching. She has practiced yoga for nearly 21 years and has taught since 2007. She studied with the Baptiste Power Yoga Institute as well as earned her 200 hr and 300 hr RYT with Sarah Gingrich, 500 E-RYT. Kay is a facilitator and presenter of the wellness & leadership training program Create Karma in Pennsylvania. She teaches weekly yoga classes at her studio The Yoga Loft in Owensboro, KY and is facilitating the Create Karma KY 200 hr/300 hr Yoga Teacher Training Program. Kay loves to teach embodied movement, speaking to subtleties in alignment, breath, and energetic qualities of the asana. She believes yoga is medicine for the body, mind, heart, and soul.

Sarah Ballard

Sarah Ballard’s classes are playful, powerful, and genuinely heartfelt. Drawing on her education background, Sarah is known for storytelling, her inviting smile and her willingness to allow each student to come just as they are. Each class is an invitation for self-nurture, for laughter, and an opportunity for pause.

Sarah is an assistant facilitator for Create Karma, a non-profit leadership training based in Lancaster, PA responsible for expanding lives in the fields of wellness, community, and leadership. Sarah completed her Masters of Arts in Teaching from the University of the Cumberlands and is a certified children’s yoga teacher through Rainbow Kid’s Yoga, ChildLight, and Cosmic Kids. Her 200-hr certification is through PranaFlow and she completed her 500-hr yoga certification with Create Karma.

Discover the true meaning of relaxation at the center’s Spa, offering a variety of first-class spa services performed by professional therapists. Treatments utilize 100% natural products. Getting There

You will be booking your flights for the San Jose International Airport (SJO). Before booking tickets, please be sure you have received your official confirmation note that the retreat has met its minimums. There will be one group airport shuttle each way based on our flight window guidelines. Be sure your flights align with the provided flight windows if you wish to use the group shuttle.
