Our lives can be overwhelmed with the details of daily living. The amount of information being directed at us on a daily basis is never given an opportunity to be digested, assimilated and ultimately eliminated. Life can be lonely for the soul when our lives are too busy just existing.
Who can pause enough to make space for being insightful to our deeper longings? There is a profound desire to belong not just in our various roles, personalities or identities but to the deeper inner landscape of our soul—the willingness to open and reveal that essence of our inner light.
Come experience the mystical land of light and darkness with leader Laura Jane Mellencamp. Journey to northern Iceland, one of the most amazing places on earth. Take in powerful landscapes, including deep fjords, vast volcanic deserts, snowcapped mountains, and staggering waterfalls. Enjoy days of exploration, hiking, and practicing yoga evenings soaking in the outdoor hot tub under the mystical night sky as the brilliance of the Aurora Borealis northern lights are on full display. We invite you on a journey of deep personal connection while also spending time with others who share a mutual passion for our sacred mother earth.
Unforgettable yoga experience with Laura Jane Mellencamp
Using the practice of meditation, Laura Jane has designed this week to support you in exploring the tools of stilling the mind and embracing your authentic self. The yoga classes will blend the disciplines of various styles of Hatha yoga with the mindfulness of meditation. They will cover the fundamental principles underlying the therapeutic application of yoga and how to incorporate these principles into your practice. Work to dissolve old blockages, unravel samskaras, and create new pathways to vibrant health and happiness. The end result will be one of the most incredible, unforgettable yoga experiences you will ever have.
This week is a perfect balance between rest and play. Laura has discovered through leading and attending many retreats that traveling together and saying yes to life and its opportunities at the moment create lasting friendships and gratitude for life’s abundance that will last forever.

“The experience with Laura Jane in Amorgos was beautiful, peaceful, and exceeded my expectations! We practiced well thought out yoga classes twice a day, and still had plenty of time for outings on the island, or time to relax by the pool. The group was a true sangha, community, of friendly open people. Old friends reconnected, and new friends were made by each yogi. I feel confident about traveling with Laura Jane and through True Nature again!” – Kay G.
“My experience in Laura Jane’s retreats are always unique. Travel changes people no matter what the destination. Yoga changes people too. When combined, you have a transformation that changes the heart. Everything you see, taste and experience are better and I return home with my ‘cup full’. The friendships I made on the retreat will last a lifetime, we shared and were there for one another. An amazing trip made even more special by one of the best mentors and teachers in the Chicago area.” – Cathy C.
“I am so excited to attend my third retreat with Laura Jane and this amazing community of yogis. There is a reason so many of us keep coming back year after year. Laura Jane creates such a warm and welcoming atmosphere in which to explore your yoga practice regardless of where you are at in your life. The twice-daily practices and daily sutra study, combined with the beauty of the area and the phenomenal food, make this a retreat everyone should experience!” – Bobby P.
“I try to never miss Laura Jane’s wonderful yoga retreats! They are the one time of the year that is just about me. I don’t have to take care of anyone or anything other than myself. The combination of yoga, healthy food, journaling, quiet time, a wonderful guide and amazing friends is just what I need to regenerate for the year ahead.” – Kandice H.

We cannot emphasize more the importance of travel insurance. As we all know, especially as travelers, “life happens.” Whether it’s family, work, mother nature, or a change of heart, it is important to be prepared in case you need to unexpectedly change your travel plans. Often for less than $150, you can purchase a travel insurance policy and be protected in the event that you need to make a change or need to be covered financially prior to or during your trip.
We have partnered with two insurance companies: Trawick International and CSA Travel Insurance (available for U.S. Residents only). For Non-U.S. Residents this policy with Trawick insurance is available: Safe Travels Multi-National.
We encourage you to research the insurance company and policy that best meets your needs.
