Ready, Set, Pause…far away from distraction. Renew and deepen into your soul.

If you think about it, yoga and travel are two activities that bring similar benefits to our body and mind. They both let you know yourself better, push you to do things you probably didn’t know you were capable of, as well as provide you with a state of mind that just makes you feel alive!

Join Ann & Erica for an exhilarating week nestled away in the hills of Umbria, Italy. Indulge all of your senses by rejuvenating yoga, reveling in authentic Italian cuisine, exploring Umbria’s culture, and spending lazy afternoons sightseeing. In this retreat, which will bring you to the heart of Italy, we will combine the best with the best: Yoga and everything Italy has to offer!

Round out your vacation with a selection of food and wine activities including winery visits & tastings, a cooking class, an all Umbrian food, wine & history tour, truffle hunting, all with plenty of time to sightsee and meander through several of Umbria’s most iconic towns. After 2020-2021 we all need something to look forward to. This is it, look no further!

Are you ready to Relax, Recharge, and Reignite?

Ann will teach two yoga classes each day. The morning session will be more active with plenty of detailed alignment-based asana instruction. This will be vinyasa based with a focus on breath and sensation, which will allow you to drift into a much-needed savasana at the end of each class. The afternoon session will be a more relaxing yin practice, which allows you to unwind and relax from the day’s activities. All levels are welcome, and practice is not required.

In the heart of green Umbria, this hidden gem is tucked amongst the rolling hills of Tuscany. This charming farmhouse has been restored according to the principles of bio-architecture and is ideal for those interested in a change to truly retreat from the world. Get closer to nature and spend your retreat coming into harmony with the natural rhythms of life at this eco-friendly wellness center. With 17 historic rooms, a pool of vitalizing water, three stunning yoga rooms, a restaurant with wonderful vegetarian cuisine, and lots of beautiful outdoor space to enjoy this is a venue not to be missed!

The interiors of the farmhouse are in typical Umbrian style, with terracotta floors and exposed beams and bricks. The center is furnished with an original mix of classic and ethnic, which gives charm and elegance to your retreat experience. In their luscious park, surrounded by oaks trees, the swimming pool of natural waters is an amazing privilege. The pool is in the form of a natural pond, surrounded by volcanic boulders, and consists of three basins connected to each other by a system of rocky cascades. It is a place to rejuvenate and find true wellness, with a large Jacuzzi in the center.

This Tuscan farmhouse is the perfect place for a nature holiday in the green heart of Italy, with its untouched landscapes lined with historic towns. This retreat center is available year-round, giving you access to Italy throughout all of its breathtaking seasons.

Ann and Erica are the owners of Studio Bamboo Yoga in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  For over five years they have been leading retreats abroad for their students to be inspired and expand their practice. Their retreats are grounded in learning, adventure, and connection. It’s never about the destination, it’s always about the journey and what we learn along the way.

Ann, who will be your yoga guide for the week, teaches a variety of classes emphasizing technique and alignment, intensives, and teacher training at the 200-hour and 300-hour levels as well as continued education for yoga therapists and yoga teachers. She is a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and a 1000-hour yoga teacher by Beryl Bender Birch and The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute. Ann was honored to be on the Board of Directors for the Give Back Yoga Foundation for 10 years and is now on the Advisory Board still serving the organization.

Ann began yoga in the late ‘90s and quickly realized there was something more to it than just movement. She was
hooked and her fascination with the healing aspects of the practice soon followed.  Ann’s teaching style is fun, energetic, and challenging, yet grounding, safe, and supportive.

Two documentaries, “Standing Still/Still Standing”, by Walton Films and “Yoga as Medicine”, by Green Island Films features Ann and two of her adaptive students.

Ann truly believes yoga is for Every Body, as Desikachar says, “If you can breathe, you can do yoga.”

Travel Insurance

We cannot emphasize more the importance of travel insurance. As we all know, especially as travelers, “life happens.” Whether it’s family, work, mother nature, or a change of heart, it is important to be prepared in case you need to unexpectedly change your travel plans. Often for less than $150, you can purchase a travel insurance policy and be protected in the event that you need to make a change or need to be covered financially prior to or during your trip.

We have partnered with two insurance companies: Trawick International and CSA Travel Insurance (available for U.S. Residents only).

Read more about our insurance partners and their policies here. We encourage you to research the insurance company and policy that best meets your needs.
