The Butterfly Effect Transformational Retreat:
Experience the transformational effect of small daily practices

Join Lindsey Gallegos in the lush paradise of Costa Rica for an immersive and transformative experience at The Butterfly Effect Retreat. Nestled amidst the vibrant rainforest and serene private beach, this retreat is designed to harness the power of Somatic yoga, Nidra meditation, daily adventure and the butterfly effect – where small, positive changes create significant impacts. Participants will also create and tie their own mala keepsake imbued with the energy and intentions of their retreat experiences.

Over the course of 6 days, we will embark on a journey of self-discovery and inner-growth, guided by an experienced instructor who will help participants cultivate mindfulness, balance, and harmony. The daily somatic yoga sessions, tailored to all levels and individuals, will help release stored stress, trauma, and emotions from the body. The nightly Nidra meditation sessions will deepen your connection to your inner-self, help you heal on a deep level, and even assist in manifesting your goals and dreams. Participants will also have time to experience the beauty and adventure of Costa Rica through hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, snorkeling, ziplining, and more!

Highlights of the retreat include:

  • Daily yoga sessions: Experience the effects of consistent gentle and healing yoga sessions.
  • Evening Nidra meditation sessions: Experience profound peace and healing through guided meditations that will gently ease you into sleep after a day of transformative activities.
  • Healthy Cuisine: Enjoy 3 delicious, nourishing meals per day that are prepared with fresh, local ingredients and designed to support your well-being and energy levels.
  • Mala making: Discover the joy of creating a meaningful, hand-tied mala keepsake that reflects your newfound energy and intentions.
  • Community and Connection: Share this transformative journey with like-minded individuals, building lasting friendships and a supportive network of fellow participants on similar paths toward personal growth.

Whether you are seeking deep transformation, looking to deepen your yoga and meditation practice, or simply yearning for a retreat that will leave a lasting positive impact on your life, The Butterfly Effect Transformational Retreat is guaranteed to be the perfect sanctuary. Join me in Costa Rica and let the power of the butterfly effect transform your life, one mindful step at a time.

Types of Practices Offered on Retreat

Somatic Yoga

Somatic yoga focuses on mindful movement and the internal experience of the body. It emphasizes slow, gentle movements that help increase body awareness and release tension. By paying close attention to how the body feels and moves, practitioners can develop a deeper connection between the mind and body, fostering relaxation and overall well-being. This practice can be especially beneficial for those recovering from injury, dealing with chronic pain, and/or those who are experiencing emotional trauma/stress symptoms.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, is a guided meditation practice that induces deep relaxation and a state of conscious awareness between wakefulness and sleep. Participants lie down comfortably and follow verbal directions that guide them through a series of body scans, breathing techniques, and visualizations. This practice aims to release tension, reduce stress, and promote deep rest and rejuvenation. It can also enhance creativity, improve sleep quality, and support emotional healing.

Mala Making

Mala making is the craft of creating mala bead necklaces, which are traditionally used in meditation practices. A mala typically consists of 108 beads, which can be made from various materials such as wood, gemstones, and crystals. The process of making a mala involves stringing the beads, tying knots, and adding a guru bead and tassel. This practice can be meditative and introspective, allowing the creator to infuse their intentions and energy into the mala. Once completed, the mala can be used to count breaths, recite mantras, or simply worn as a reminder of the creator’s goals and intentions.

A day at Playa Uvita:

Find yourself surrounded by primary and secondary forests, just steps from the river and the beach, where nature is full of surprises. Take a hike and enjoy it. Time is yours to find monkeys, birds, the cutter ants, the elusive sloth or jaguandi…to enjoy the scents and shapes of  tropical flowers, take a dip in the river or pool, sit on a rock and relax looking for the lizards and dragonflies playing on the surface or the fish circling in the deep. Continue your walk admiring the reforestation, enter the primary forest… open your ears to the beautiful sounds of nature where the wild and calmness balance perfectly. Be surprised by the monkeys in the canopy, a monarch  butterfly fluttering between the leaves, a manakin and its majestic dance … Nature will recharge you to the maximum. Keep your eyes open to be able to observe the fauna and flora that surrounds you.

Lindsey Gallegos

Lindsey Gallegos is an Intuitive Soul Guide™, Somatic Healing Expert, and certified Spiritual Coach. As a social worker by trade, she has over 20 years of experience in holistic wellness coaching focusing on the mind, body, and spirit. She is a 500 RYT yoga instructor in both Hatha and Vinyasa styles with 10 years of experience teaching adults and children. She is a Reiki Master and Certified Mindfulness Meditation Instructor. She is a native to Colorado and loves being outdoors, especially in the Rocky Mountains. She is a mom to 3 beautiful kids ages 16, 13, and 6. She is also a wife to an amazing husband and a dedicated daughter, friend, and human. Her purpose in life is to help people transform and level up in their lives through yoga, meditation, and soul healing.

Lindsey started practicing yoga when she was 23 years old. She joined a class at the local Community College that focused on alignment. She fell in love with it! This practice carried her through a difficult marriage and eventual divorce, through burnout and vicarious trauma in her social work profession, through the birth of her 3 children and her 1 miscarriage, and eventually through postpartum depression and multiple struggles with her physical health. Through all the ups and downs in her life, yoga, meditation and mindfulness practices have been the few constants. She’s learned to truly celebrate the wonderful moments and move through the grief of difficult moments. She began teaching yoga and meditation to children as a School Social Worker in the public schools in 2017. They responded so well to this that they created an entire schoolwide program that was the first in the state of Colorado. She then moved on to get her 500 RYT certificate and begin teaching adults the same practices. Lindsey continued in her teaching journey and received her Reiki Master Certification, Somatic Yoga Teacher Certification, and Spiritual Coaching Certification. Her extensive experience delivering these services has confirmed her suspicion that yoga, meditation, and mindfulness are deep healing practices for all ages. It is her dream to bring these healing practices to all who need and resonate with them.

We cannot emphasize more the importance of travel insurance. As we all know, especially as travelers, “life happens.” Whether it’s family, work, mother nature, or a change of heart, it is important to be prepared in case you need to unexpectedly change your travel plans. Often for less than $150, you can purchase a travel insurance policy and be protected in the event that you need to make a change or need to be covered financially prior to or during your trip.

We have partnered with two insurance companies: Trawick International and CSA Travel Insurance (available for U.S. Residents only).
