Power + Stillness: Dominica Yoga Retreat
Escape into the lush beauty of Dominica for Power + Stillness: Dominica Yoga Retreat — an immersive experience designed to restore balance between movement and rest, strength and softness, adventure and reflection. Surrounded by rainforest-covered mountains, volcanic hot springs, and the healing energy of the Caribbean Sea, this retreat invites you to reconnect with yourself through intentional practice, community, and nature.
Our yoga style blends dynamic, energizing flows with grounding restorative practices to create a holistic experience accessible to a wide range of practitioners. Morning sessions will focus on powerful vinyasa-inspired movement designed to build strength, mobility, confidence, and breath awareness. These practices emphasize mindful alignment, fluid transitions, and cultivating resilience both on and off the mat. Evening sessions will shift into stillness through yin yoga, deep stretch, guided meditation, breathwork, and nervous system regulation practices that encourage rest, clarity, and inner calm. The retreat theme of Power + Stillness explores the idea that true wellness comes not from constant motion, but from learning when to push forward and when to pause.
Beyond yoga, guests will have space to unplug and fully experience the magic of Dominica — whether through quiet moments overlooking the ocean, nourishing local cuisine, meaningful conversations, or optional excursions into the island’s waterfalls, thermal springs, and tropical landscapes. This retreat is designed for those seeking renewal, reconnection, and a deeper sense of presence. You’ll leave feeling stronger, lighter, more grounded, and inspired to carry both power and stillness back into everyday life.

MARY MORGAN-BRYAN
She first encountered Baptiste Power Yoga in 2012. Convinced that her preference for high-intensity workouts and yoga would not align, she was surprised after her first class by how physically challenging the practice was. The competitor in her kept coming back for more. With every practice, she experienced unexpected feelings of strength and ease while gaining a deeper appreciation for her body and her life.
So profoundly impacted by her yoga practice, she made the life-changing decision to leave her career, move her family from Nashville, TN—where she had lived for 23 years—to Oxford, MS to open Baptiste Power Yoga Oxford. She can honestly say she is doing what she loves. Being able to share this life-changing practice with others is a dream come true. Her intention for the studio is to create a nurturing space that builds community and empowers others to live inspired lives.
She is a Tier 2: 750-hour certified Baptiste Yoga Educator and an E-RYT 500 through Yoga Alliance. She also co-facilitates 200-hour and 300-hour yoga teacher training programs in Oxford and Nashville.
Her classes are rooted in Baptiste methodology, offering simple tools to access a deeply physical experience that awakens and empowers students both on and off the mat.
RACHEL HAGGARD
Yoga Alliance certified instructor Rachel Haggard discovered yoga in 2010 after stepping away from competitive sports. What began as a new form of movement quickly evolved into a transformative practice that combined strength, balance, fluidity, and breath. Yoga offered her both the physical challenge she craved and the grounding sense of calm that continues to shape her teaching today.
Rachel is a RYT 500-hour certified instructor through Yoga Alliance. In 2019, she completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Southern Star Yoga Center in Oxford, Mississippi, followed by her 300-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training in 2024. Trained in the Hatha Vinyasa style, Rachel teaches classes that intentionally connect movement and breath while building heat, strength, and endurance. In 2025, she earned her 25-hour Yoga Sculpt certification through Baptiste Power Yoga in Oxford. She enjoys leading high-energy yoga sculpt classes that incorporate weights and cardio for a dynamic, full-body experience. Rachel has taught yoga both locally in Mississippi and internationally in Southern Africa.
In addition to teaching power yoga, Rachel co-leads Breath2Movement Workshops alongside fellow instructor Deb Jones. Together, they have offered workshops in Oxford, at Yoga on the Mountain in Mount Magazine, Arkansas, and at the Little Rock Yoga Festival. These immersive workshops invite students to move beyond overthinking and reconnect with their bodies through choreographed yoga sequences set to music. Rachel also teaches handstand workshops designed to challenge students, build confidence, and quite literally flip their perspective.
