Journey to the Source: A Sacred India Yoga Pilgrimage

Join Devon, ERYT-500, C-IAYT, founder of Day Yoga Studios, for a transformative week-long yoga retreat and spiritual pilgrimage through the sacred and vibrant landscapes of India. This experience goes beyond a traditional retreat, offering an opportunity to immerse yourself in the roots of yoga while exploring iconic destinations, including New Delhi, the Taj Mahal, and the spiritual centers of Rishikesh and Haridwar along the Ganges River. It is thoughtfully designed to nourish your body, mind, and spirit through daily practice, meditation, and meaningful cultural connection.

Each day includes up to two yoga or meditation sessions, with energizing morning vinyasa or hatha practices and calming evening restorative or gentle sessions, meditation, or sangha circles. Breathwork (pranayama) is woven throughout to support clarity and inner calm.

Beyond the mat, you’ll experience a blend of cultural exploration and personal downtime, enjoying nourishing meals, visiting sacred sites, witnessing traditional rituals, and having space for reflection.

This journey is as much inward as it is outward. As a spiritual pilgrimage, it offers a rare chance to step away from daily life, reconnect with yourself, and experience India’s deeply rooted traditions in an authentic way. You’ll return home feeling grounded, inspired, and renewed, with a lasting sense of balance and well-being.

Accommodations

A 10-day transformational journey through northern India, designed to nourish mind, body, and soul through authentic yoga, meditation, Diwali festivities, and a pilgrimage to one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The trip begins with an arrival night at a hotel in New Delhi before the group travels to Haridwar, where they settle into Johari House, an intimate, family-run home that anchors the spiritual heart of the retreat. With its rooftop yoga space, home-cooked Ayurvedic meals, ceremonial welcomes, Yantra Painting workshops, and Ayurvedic cooking sessions, Johari House offers a deeply personal immersion. From there, the group transfers to a hotel in Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of India, for a stay that allows for flexible exploration of Parmarth Niketan, the oldest Shivananda Ashram, the Beatles Ashram, Vashisht Cave, and a visit with Saint Maa Gyaan Suveera at Keerti Hermitage. The group then moves south to a hotel in Agra positioned for a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, before returning to New Delhi for a farewell dinner and departure.
