Sacred Valley Awakening: A Pilgrimage into Yoga and Devotion in the Peruvian Andes

Step into one of the most spiritually charged landscapes on Earth and experience yoga as a living, breathing path of transformation.

Nestled in the heart of Peru’s Sacred Valley—once the center of the Incan civilization—this retreat is more than a getaway. It is a pilgrimage. A journey inward. A return to what is sacred within you.

In this land, the Earth herself is revered as Pachamama—the Great Mother, the living embodiment of creation. In the yogic tradition, we come to know this same presence as Shakti, the Divine Mother who creates, sustains, and transforms all of life. She is the intelligence within nature, the rhythm of the breath, the quiet power moving through your own heart.

Here, held by the mountains and sky, you are invited to remember this sacred connection—not as an idea, but as a lived experience.

Each day, you’ll be guided through Jivamukti Yoga, meditation, and the heart-opening practices of Bhakti Yoga—including mantra, chanting, and sacred study. Through these practices, we begin to soften, to listen, and to attune ourselves to something deeper—what many traditions describe as grace.

Together, we will explore yoga not only as a physical practice, but as a path of devotion—one that steadies the mind, opens the heart, and awakens a deeper sense of meaning and connection. Supported by intentional community and time in nature, you’ll have space to rest, reflect, and realign.

This retreat also offers visits to powerful sacred sites, giving you the opportunity to walk in the presence of an ancient spiritual lineage and experience the land as a living teacher.

Whether you are seeking renewal, inspiration, or a deeper connection to your spiritual path, this journey offers a rare opportunity to step away from daily life and reconnect with what truly matters.

Space is limited to maintain an intimate and supportive group experience. Early registration is encouraged.

Come as you are. Leave transformed.

Accommodations

The retreat center’s name translates as “Love from the Ancient Forest.” It is nestled in an oasis of native plants and fruit trees, nourished by a magnificent waterfall in the Sacred Valley of Peru. This lovely spot is in the Andes Mountains and is home to the twelve mountains known as Apus—“luminous beings.” Those who come to the center have the opportunity to commune directly with these mountains, as well as with the local curanderos and pacos (healers), who engage with us for ritual and Despacho ceremony.

The guests at this center enjoy delicious vegan meals with locally grown and lovingly prepared ingredients. Each guestroom is a reflection of the Peruvian culture of the Sacred Valley. The entire center embodies kindness, love, and wholeness that seem to permeate the magical place.

Sharada Devi is a certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher (E-RYT 500), Bhakti yogi, and founder/owner of Satsang Yoga Studio in Berea, Ohio. With over 10,000 hours of teaching experience, she has been guiding students since 2009 beyond the physical practice into a deeper experience of yoga—one that cultivates inner peace, clarity, and a meaningful connection to the Divine.

Her teaching weaves together intelligent asana sequencing, breath awareness, meditation, and the heart-opening practices of Bhakti Yoga, including mantra chanting and the singing of the Hanuman Chalisa. A devoted practitioner in the lineage of Neem Karoli Baba, Sharada creates a space that is both grounded and transformative—where students feel supported, inspired, and invited into something deeper.

Kanhaiya Das is a devoted Bhakti Yoga practitioner, gifted musician, and kirtan leader whose presence brings a sense of joy, sincerity, and connection. His musical path began in childhood and later led him to serve in the 122nd Army Band. Following a profound inner awakening, he felt called to share the spirit he discovered through music and devotion.

Also a devotee of Neem Karoli Baba, Kanhaiya shares a simple and powerful message: Love, Service, Devotion. Through kirtan—the chanting of the divine names—he creates an immersive, heart-centered experience that invites participants to let go, open, and reconnect with their true nature.

Together, Sharada and Kanhaiya offer a rare and complementary experience—blending the depth of traditional yoga practice with the transformative power of devotion, music, and community. Rooted in a shared path of Bhakti, their retreats offer not only practice, but a lived experience of devotion that is both authentic and deeply personal.

“She teaches mindful awareness to the core and helps students to build core strength in any pose. She brings laughter to the practice and the joy of being human on our mats. I highly recommend Sharada to people new to the mat, and long-time yogis as well.”
